2025 Prep Enrolments and more

Congratulations, Grainger House, winner of this year’s Cross Country.

Special thanks to Josh Ancrum for his organisation of the event, and a special thank you to the 8 parent helpers who volunteered their time. These events require parent support to ensure the safety of our students – this year our students demonstrated outstanding support for each other and pride in trying their best.

District Cross Country takes place on Wednesday 15th May @ Dendy Park. Students who positioned in the top 12 represent the school. We strongly encourage all eligible students to participate – an opportunity to represent the school and demonstrate school pride – we thank you in advance for encouraging your child to join in and try their best.

Apply now to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) for 2025

The Department of Education has released the statewide timeline for enrolling in Foundation (Prep) for the 2025 school year.

If you have a child starting primary school in 2025, it’s time to enrol. Make sure to submit your enrolment application by Friday 26 July 2024.

If you are enrolling the sibling of a student at our school for Foundation in 2025, and both children will be attending our school at the same time, your child is prioritised for a place at our school as per the department’s Placement Policy.

It is important to follow the statewide timeline to enrol your child in Prep/Foundation. Enrolling your child in line with the timelines allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities and ensures your child has the best start to school.

For more information, please read about when and how to enrol your child in Foundation at vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep.

If you are seeking to enrol your child into Foundation next year the enrolment forms are available on our website https://www.brightonbeachps.vic.edu.au/enrolment

To learn more about Prep at BBPS, join us on May 20 at 5pm for an information session tailored for current kindergarten families. Please share this information with your kindergarten community.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Parent Association for their outstanding efforts in organising school events to date. The Easter Raffle raised over $4300! With this, we are thrilled to announce the purchase of new BBPS marquees and outdoor learning furniture for our Grade 5 students.

We look forward to hearing more about today’s annual Mother’s Day Lunch in our next newsletter.

Our students have loved celebrating their mums and special friends this week – Preps were busy completing shared activities which included a loving massage, and very fashionable pasta necklaces with a 'pop of colour. Grade 1 put on a sensational choir performance with Mrs May, Grade 2 and 5 embraced sustainable practices, Grade 6 interviewed the fabulous women in their life; and Grade 3 and 4 have been busy creating (secret author business, to be revealed on the weekend). See BBPS Life for some great pics of these events. We wish all our mums, grandmas, aunties, carers and special friends a wonderful weekend, and thank you all for the wonderful contributions of time, support and effort into our BBPS community.

Victorian Education Week is next week – our students look forward to showcasing their best work. https://www.vic.gov.au/education-week

Make sure you pop your head into our open classrooms from 3 – 3:45pm throughout the week. Siblings are welcome to join you in their sibling’s classroom at 3:30pm, after the end of day bell.

Monday: Prep and Grade 1

Tuesday: Grade 2

At Monday's assembly we will finally be presenting our Year 6 leaders with their badges - parents welcome, no official ceremony as this took place in March. Grade 4 SRC reps will also be presenting.
